Sindh High Court on Monday adjourned hearing of constitutional petition against 'Crorepati lottery', introduced by Punjab government Bank of Punjab in the name of Punjab Development Fund (PDF). Sajjad Ahmed Bhatti, a resident of Larkana, who purchased 31 tickets from PDF distributor for purpose of Rs 70 million lottery, challenged the lottery submitting two pairs of tickets, which he purchased, have similar and identical numbers.
The court was told by respondents' counsel that Supreme Court had suspended the interim order of SHC in which Punjab government was restrained from distribution of prizes of 'Crorepati lottery'.
SHC's division bench comprising Justice Attaur Rehman and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain after statement of respondent's counsel adjourned the matter for date in office.
