A delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), which was in Malaysia to attend the OIC Trade Forum, has observed that Malaysian businessmen had a lot of interest to invest in Pakistan in the form of joint ventures, especially in the fields of dairy and livestock.
"We held interaction with businessmen came from different Muslim countries, particularly Malaysia, besides visiting various production units to share experiences with them", said Mian Habibur Rehman, deputy leader of the RCCI delegation, after his arrival from Kuala Lumpur.
Mian Ateeq Ahmed of Geeways Enterprises, led the seven-member trade team of the RCCI to take part in the two-day OIC Trade Forum in Malaysian capital Putrajaya.
Besides, Mian Ateeq, other members of the team included Habib ur Rehman, dealing in poultry breeding, Baqaullah, dealing in industrial raw materials, chemicals and equipment, Zaheeruddin Baber, dealing in electric power tools, Muhammad Khalid, dealing in food products and beverages, Muhammad Amjad, dealing freight forwarding and Muhammad Ahmed Khan dealing in radio communications.
Mian Habib said that the Pakistani team visited a number of production units in Malaysia besides participating in OIC Trade Forum and holding interactive sessions with the Chambers of Commerce of Malaysia and other corporate entities.
He said that the delegation also held talks with International Trade Minister of Malaysia Rafida Aziz.
He said that RCCI team was also with the members of the delegation led by Islamic Chamber of Commerce President Saleh Kamel, who called on Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmed Badawi.
He termed the Malaysia tour a fruitful trip of the RCCI team, which was seen involved in meeting with other visiting delegations of Muslim countries.
The RCCI was the sole Pakistani chamber, which participated in the OIC forum.
