All is set to observe the 74th Kashmir Martyrs Day on July 13 by the Kashmiris inhibiting either side of the line of control and rest of the world with the renewal of the pledge to continue the ongoing freedom struggle for the achievement of their birth right of self-determination and for the liberation of occupied Jammu & Kashmir from the Indian subjugation.
There will be complete strike in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir state on the call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference marking the observance of the Kashmir Martyrs Day, says a report reaching here on Tuesday from across the line of control. The strike will be followed by anti-India and pro-freedom rallies across the occupied state, the report added.
In Azad Jammu Kashmir, rallies and seminars will be held to pay rich tributes to Kashmiri martyrs followed by protest rallies and demonstrations against India for her forcible unlawful occupation over bulk of the Jammu Kashmir state.
Special Kashmir Martyrs public meetings will also be held in all major cities including Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bagh, Rawalakot, Sudhanoti and Bhimbher and all other small and major towns and cities. In these special functions speakers will pay rich tributes to the Kashmiris martyrs of 1931 who were gunned down by the then Dogra rulers outside the Central Jail Srinagar for raising voice for the liberation of the motherland from the Dogra yoke.
It was on this day in 1931 when the Dogra troops had shot dead 22 Kashmiris in front of the Central Jail Srinagar. A large number of people had gathered outside the jail protesting against the trial of a young man - Abdul Qadeer for treason inside the prison.
In Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir state, a large number of people visited Mazar-e-shuhada in processions.
