The Kashmir Martyrs Day was observed throughout Sialkot and Narowal district by the refugees from the occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in both districts on Wednesday. The day-long programmes started with special prayers for the solidarity, unity, and prosperity of the country as well as for the early liberation of occupied valley.
Quran Khawani for the martyrs and special meetings were held to commemorate the Kashmiri Martyrs of 1931 who were shot dead by the Dogra rulers outside Srinagar jail.
Addressing the meetings, refugees from occupied Jammu and Kashmir settled in Sialkot and Narowal districts have urged all peace loving nations and United Nations that they should take immediate step for stopping the excessive barbarism and killing of innocent Kashmiris in occupied valley.
They said that world leaders had focussed their attention on the burning Kashmir issue but Indian troops have intensified the killing of innocent Kashmiri deliberately. They said that Pakistan Government had adopted flexible attitude for fruitful and durable outcome of their differences through dialogues. On the other hand Indian government was using the old practice for resolving more than half-century-old Kashmir disputes according to aspirations of Kashmiris and in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
Addressing a meeting, All Jammu and Kashmiris Muslim Conference District President Hafiz Muhammad Raza said that Kashmiris have initiated the movement in occupied Kashmir with the aim at liberating their motherland from the Indian yoke and the liberation movement had now reached its peak and it could not be crushed by any force and barbarism.
Another prominent Kashmiri leader of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Ejaz Ahmad Sheikh, also urged the Indian prime minister to announce the stoppage of growing homicide of innocent Kashmiris in occupied state.
Speaking on the occasion, the senior leader of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Sheik Muhammad Saleem, also condemned the brutal activities of Indian forces, and called upon the peace-loving nations to come forward and play their instrumental role in stopping the genocide of innocent Kashmiris in occupied valley.
The speakers said that it was President General Pervez Musharraf who had highlighted the burning issue of Kashmir on all international forums as a result of which the world community perceived the gravity of the issue.
