The Universities of Sindh, Jamshoro, and Karachi are jointly organising a four-day international conference on "Sindh vision and envision conference" in February next year at Karachi. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will inaugurate the conference, while Senate Chairman Muhammadmian Soomro will be the chief guest on its closing day.
A high level meeting of a subject committee, comprising scholars and intellectuals of Sindhi and Urdu languages, held here on Wednesday. Sindh University Vice Chancellor Dr Mazharul Haq Siddiqui chaired the meeting.
The meeting was attended by noted scholars and writers Dr Ghulam Ali Allana, Mazhar Yousuf, Farman Fatehpuri, Qamar Shahbaz, Hameed Sindhi, Aga Saleem, Dr Qazi Khadim Hussein, Dr Noor Afroz Khuwaja, Ghulam Nabi Mughal, Professor Aijaz Qureshi, Shaukat Hussein Shoro and Saleem Memon.

Conference," proposed by the noted intellectual Mazhar Yousuf.
The meeting, on the recommendation of Dr Ghulam Ali Allana, decided that during the three-days the conference, total nine sessions would be held, focussing on various topics on Sindhi culture, heritage, literature and language.
It decided that on the first day of the conference, three sessions would be held in which history, archaeology, anthropology, culture and heritage of Sindh will be discussed. On the second day, three sessions will be held on the topic of Sindhi language and literature beyond borders, while the second session will be held on contributions of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, Sachal Sarmast,
Sami, Mirza Qaleech Baig, Sheikh Ayaz and Narain Sham.
The third session of the second day will be held on the role of print and electronic media and science and technology.
The fourth session would be devoted to contribution of Urdu and other Pakistani languages.
On the third day, the first session will be held on topic of contribution of foreign scholars, while the second session will be held on Sindhi society and economy.
It was also decided that during the three days' of the conference, musical programmes, cultural shows, dramas of Mirza Qaleech Baig and Mushaira would be organised in the evenings.
The meeting constituted a cultural committee, headed by Mahtab Akbar Rashidi while Qamar Shahbaz, Aga Saleem, Shaukat Hussein Shoro, Khushbakht Shujaat, Sultana Siddiqui, Hameed Sindhi, Nisar Memon and others will be members of the committee.
The meeting also decided that delegates from various universities of the country, comprising scholars and students as well as Scholars from abroad would be invited to attend the conference.
The meeting further decided that letters would be sent to intellectuals and scholars to contribute their papers on various topics while they would be requested to send their papers in advance for publication of books.
It was also decided that the logo of the conference and a song of the conference would also be composed.
The scholars proposed publication of books during the conference days, exhibition of the cultural items, rare books and book fairs.
