The Pakistan peoples Party Patriots (PPPP) has decided to field women candidates for the seats of councillors in 126 Union Councils (UCs) of the Multan City. As per decision, there would be two women contesting for Councillor seat in every UC in Multan. In some UCs, the number of women candidates may be three or more, depending upon various factors.
As far women candidates for the office of UC nazim, the party leadership has decided to nominate potential women for the slot, meaning thereby that share of women nazims in the city.
Currently, local bodies board is interviewing women candidates to finalise names for the purpose.
The PPP Punjab leadership will visit divisional headquarters to review the preparation for forthcoming local bodies' elections.
PPP provincial chief, Qasim Zia and other party leaders will leave for Gujranwala on Thursday. They will visit Bahawalpur on July 19, Multan on July 20 and Dera Ghazi Khan on July 21. During their visits they would meet the ticket holders besides meeting the local leadership in those area.
The PPP took several decisions for the effective media campaign of the party nominees and to check the government accesses against them.
