Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr Salman Shah and Minister of State for Finance Omar Ayub discuss modalities and structure of Khushhal Pakistan Fund (KPF), being created under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme, with the representatives of multilateral donor agencies.
The focus of the Fund will be to finance community development projects, infrastructure needs and employment generation at the grassroots level. The Fund will augment the developmental activities at Tehsil and district levels and would try to fill resource gap through the Fund.
Abid Hasan, Rehan, Taqila Sajin of the World Bank, Doglus Portar, Safdar Pervaiz, Muzaffar Rasool from the ADB and Richard Martiny and Musharraf Zaidi from the DFID UK participated in the discussion.
Salman asked the participants to suggest a best practice system and transparent procedure for the implementation of the concept to support the government''s objective of improving the living standard of the people with the help of the Fund.-PR
