Nutshell Forum is organising Annual Pakistan Human Resource Strategy Forum with the theme of "Emerging Issues in Human Resource Management". The two-day conference will be held from July 26, 2005 at a hotel in Karachi. To highlight the salient features of this forum and to create awareness among the masses about the importance of human resource management, a press conference was organised here on Thursday.
Expressing his views, Azfar Ahsan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nutshell Forum, said: "Nutshell Forum has been organising this event for the last couple of years and the response we are receiving from the Human Resource community, is very encouraging. It is because of our success in the past that prompted us to organise this year's event at a much large scale. I am also very much appreciative of all my partner organisations as managing this conference without them can be an uphill task for us".
Elaborating on the aims and objectives of the conference, he said human resource could play a vital role in the growth of a country. "In Pakistan, we have additional manpower in all sectors and now it is up to us to utilise the available human resource in an optimised way so as to put the country on the path of economic development," he added.
More than 300 participants representing a large number of national and multinational companies are participating in this conference.
Federal Minister and Chairman Higher Education Commission will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of this conference while Rakesh Gupta, chairman of Astra Net. Com - India will be the keynote speaker. Prominent human resource professionals from Pakistan and other parts of the world will be attending this conference.
The purpose of this conference is to nurture the available human and natural resource in a blend, so as to convert them into development resources for achieving a harmonised economy, with a significant place in the world to enter the domain of globalisation.
Pakistan Human Resource Strategy Forum with the theme of "Emerging Issues in Human Strategy Resource Management" is designed in a way to serve as an early warning system, alerting chief executives, human resource professionals, management consultants, trainers, academia, management students, entrepreneurs and other work place managers about the emerging issues likely to shape the future of the work place over the next decade.
The second day of the conference the participants will be enriched by attending a practical thought-provoking session on different aspects of human resource management, directly related to the behavioural issues of their respective organisations. This session will also provide an opportunity to the participants to exchange their views and opinions formed in the previous session of the conference.
Human resource consultants, including Hassan Mehmood Jaffry, Shujat Ali Baig (Habib Bank Limited), Uzma Bashir (National Bank of Pakistan), Shakeel Mapara (American Express Bank) and Rukhsana Asghar were also present on this occasion.
They said that the Nutshell Forum has been active, with zeal and commitment, in creating opportunities for both sectors of the corporate society to have dialogue for making policies, setting goals and developing strategies for enhancement of the National Human Resource Management.
