To help the local population of war-stricken Democratic Republic of Congo, a medical camp was organised by Pakistan Army contingent at Kabare, 18-km south of Bukavu, South Kivu, and Eastern Congo. The Bishop of South Kivu province, Bishop Moraoy, was the chief guest on the occasion.
The medical camp was organised in collaboration with the local health authorities and Catholic Church of Kabare. Bishop Moraoy inaugurated the free-medical camp.
Along with the Pakistan Army doctors, a lady doctor representing the catholic churches, and nursing staff from International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) also participated in the camp.
A total of 403 patients were treated during the course of the medical camp who were suffering from respiratory infections, malnutrition, gastrointestinal, skin, and viral diseases.
