Two-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday issued a notice to NWFP Advocate General (AG) in an alleged mosque burning case at Battagram and directed the provincial government to produce relevant record at next date of hearing.
While hearing a bail cancellation petition, filed by Qari Muhammad Afzal challenging decision of Peshawar High Court, the bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice M Javed Buttar adjourned the case and said "the next hearing would be fixed after court vacations.
"This is a very sensitive issue and we need complete record of the case," the bench observed.
According to the FIR registered with Battagram Police Station on January 16, a group of people reportedly attacked a mosque, which was built by Qari Muhammad Afzal and his colleagues and set fire to it.
