The Landhi Association of Trade and Industry Chairman and central president of the SOS Pakistan chapter, Shahbaz Ali Malik, has said that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah dreamt to establish economically strong and a social country as Pakistan and the same desire was of the poet of the nation Allama M Iqbal as he pointed out in his "Allahabad historic address of 1930."
He was speaking at a seminar organised by Sir Adamjee Institute FB Area Karachi to celebrate 59th Independence Day. Director Academic Engineer AR Daroowala presided over the programme, while Professor Anjum Aziz, Professor Ambrine Murtaza, Quratul Ain Hameed, Miss Arzoo Yousuf, MA Abbasi and others spoke on the occasion.
Students Hafiz Furqan Umair Abbasi and Aqsa Anam Abbasi performed national songs.
Shahbaz Malik said "our freedom fighters lost their lives at the time of partition in 1947. Thousands of women and children were killed."
"More than 2 million Muslims martyred in the struggle to get independence and to come out of dark cave of slavery and bondage," he added.
Malik advised students that "our elders lost their present for our present and future. Now it is our duty not only to keep this country strong and free but more and more stronger," he added.
He appreciated the role of Professor Ambrine Murtaza, Quratul Ain Hameed and others, who organised the function to celebrate the Independence day. Shahbaz Ali Malik also paid a great homage to Sir Adamjee, one of our national heroes and a great philanthropist.
Engineer AR Daroowala in his speech said, "obviously we are free but actually we are still in slave, as we are following instructions from USA and other developed countries and obeying them at every step in our lives."
"We are still making our state policies according to the will of the IMF and the World Bank." Students presented tableaus, delivered their speeches in the context of Pakistan Moment.-PR
