Seven Pakistani companies on Monday signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth 102 million dollars (Rs 4.5 billion) with two Chhattisgarh-based steel companies.
Six Pakistani companies signed MoU with B K Engineering while another company inked MoU with Raipur Alloys Limited for importing Ferro manganese.
The MoUs were signed at the residence of the Chief Minister, who was also present on the occasion. The Pakistan delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan Export Development Board (PEDB) Imtiaz Ali Rastagar, Indian media reported.
Pakistan would set up some steel plants with Indian technology, especially from Chhattisgarh.
It has also been proposed to set up an iron and steel research institute with the help of Indian consultants.
