Punjab Industries and Investment Minister Ajmal Cheema said the government had chalked out a plan for setting up mini-industrial estates in the key industria1 towns of the province. Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he said the work on the project would be executed in the near future, adding that measure would further accelerate pace of production and export activities, and promote local industries.
The mini-industrial estates would also help create employment opportunities for the jobless educated, skilled and semi-skilled persons, he observed, adding the government planned to establish small-scale agro-based industries in rural areas for enhancing the manufacture of agricultural tools and to create more jobs for the local people.
The minister revealed that a huge amount of eight billion rupees had been allocated for loan facility to interested persons and small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to set up new industrial units and upgradation of existing units.
