A 13-year-old scavenger lost his life on Wednesday noon as he slipped into sewage and filth-filled drain located around Tariq Road. He was said to be one of the four young scavengers of Afghan origin, aged between 10-13 years who while collecting garbage from the site lost their balance and stumbled into the filth.
A traffic constable, Khadim Hussain on duty at the Allah Wala roundabout, Shahrae Quaideen off Tariq Road along with some passers-by after listening to their screams managed to pull one of them out.
