National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) has made arrangements to register consumers in Karachi for bill payment machine - kiosk project at its nine Swift Registration Centres (NSRC) in the city. Nadra sources said on Monday that soft opening of project would take place in coming September in Karachi by receiving Sui Gas bills.
However, for use of those machines customer are required to enroll themselves with Nadra which has started free of cost enrolment of potential customers at its NSRC from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.
These Centres are located at Awami Markaz, DHA Nisar Shaheed Park, SITE, Malir, Nazimabad, Court Road, Liaquatabad, Ayesha Manzil and Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Citizens can also get themselves registered at the Customer Facilitation Centers (CFCs) of Sui Southern Gas Limited from 8:00 am 4:00 pm.
Enrolment at CFCs will initially be carried out at the CFCs located in Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) Headquarters at Civic Center Hasan Square, and Nazimabad (Haidri). This facility will be extended to other CFCs of SSGC shortly.
Consumers are advised to bring along all the utility bills (telephone, gas and electricity) of the premises where they are residing along with their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) to get enrolled for the facility.
Consumer numbers of the utility bills will be mapped with the CNICs of consumers and his biometrics (thumb impression) will be acquired. The consumers can also nominate other people ie family members and servants who can pay the utility bill on their behalf by providing their CNIC Number.
Nadra has advised customers to get them registered as soon as possible to avoid rush in this connection.
Consumer or nominated person can pay the bill anytime without bringing the utility bill, as once original CNIC is inserted in the bill machine, the amount of bill and the profile of the consumer along with photograph will appear on the screen. It will provide authenticity and satisfaction that consumer is paying his own bill.
Presently, the bill machines can be used only for payment of Sui Gas bills, Cell phone bills of Pakcom and Paktel besides acquisition of pin code for pre-paid cards.
However, the payments of other utility companies' bills from private as well as public sector which are presently made in banks or at their designated Centres are likely to be made at these bill machines.
With one time enrolment with Nadra all such facilities can be availed by the customers and it will facilitate consumers as it carries numerous advantages.
