RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged amid sluggish trading trend in the local currency markets here on Monday.
According to the currency dealers, there was no change in the demand for dollar and its supply position, which helped the rupee maintain its previous week's closing level. The dollar resumed trading at Saturday's closing rates of Rs 59.90 and Rs 60.00 on buying and selling sides, respectively. During Monday's trading, it witnessed a fractional change in its worth, but finally closed at the opening level, the dealers pointed out.
However, the rupee remained firm and appreciated its worth against the pound sterling. The pound's buying rate declined from previous closing of Rs 109.75 to Rs 109.30 while its selling rate moved down from Rs 110.20 to Rs 109.70, they said.
