Justice Muhammad Bilal Khan of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday summoned the Kot Lakhpat Jail Superintendent for Friday in a petition seeking treatment of a prisoner suffering from hepatitis-C outside the jail hospital.
The petition filed by Shaikh Tahir Sharif through Syed Tahir Abbas Rizvi advocate submitted that his brother Shaikh Tariq Sharif, a condemned prisoner, was suffering from Hepatitis-C and his condition was serious.
He submitted that he had sent an application to the Inspector General Prisons Punjab about one year ago appealing for his brother's treatment in Services Hospital Lahore but no reply was given so far.
