The present state of higher education sector, future plans and the steps required to be taken to bring further improvement in the sector would be discussed at a two-day National Forum on Higher Education to be held here from September 1st.
It will be attended by Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Heads of Public sector Universities and Degree Awarding Institutes.
Chairman HEC, Federal Minister Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rahman will chair the forum. Current programs of the Higher Education Commission Executive Director HEC Professor Dr Sohail Naqvi will brief the participants about the current HEC initiative.
Extensive discussions will be held on the current programmes and future requirements. Sub-group will be formed for focused discussions. The sub-group will hold separate meetings and submit recommendations in the concluding session to be held on September 22.
During the two-day long National Forum the discussions will particularly focus on the issues related to Quality Assurance and Good Governance.
