Pakistan Television Corporation, a pioneer channel of Pakistan, will continue to dominate as best family channel by presenting variety of excellent colourful programmes.
Managing Director, PTV Raja Muhammad Arshad Khan said this while speaking at a reception hosted in his honour by PTV Central Employees Union here on Wednesday at PTV Centre.
The reception was organised to celebrate the conferring on civil award "Sitar-i-Imtiaz" to him in recognition of his meritorious services rendered for the establishment of Ufone, its impact on mobile industry, enhancement of PTCL image and turn around of PTV from financial loss to profitable entity within a short span of 16 months.
He said PTV would be taken to new heights of success by offering a variety of programmes which include decent and sober entertainment, quiz, informative and educative segments besides significant improvement in news bulletins.
He said, under the dynamic leadership of Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad, and Federal Information Secretary, Shahid Rafi, PTV has taken bold steps to restore credibility and improve the quality of all programmes of Pakistan Television Corporation to achieve a lead viz-a-viz other TV channels within the ambit of decency and morality.
GM, PTV, Muhammad Ashraf Azim and Programme Producer, Farrukh Bashir, were also present on the occasion.
He said he had accepted this assignment as a challenge to introduce better business management techniques and modern marketing trends to overcome the financial loss of the PTV. He said quality of dramas, serials, current affair programmes, entertainment programmes and especially PTV news bulletin etc would surely be improved.
Arshad Khan said, "He has given new direction and better vision to PTV in line with modern requirements to provide better entertainment to viewers."
He urged upon the employees to work with more dedication and produce more quality programmes to compete with private channels without compromising on decent norms and ethics and national interests.
President PTV Employees Central Union, Agha Shahid Rashid, said credit for restoration of financial health of the organisation goes to team leadership qualities of the MD PTV who led this premier institution purely on professional skills in a transparent order.
