Another three persons including two children Junaid (10) and Irfan (12) succumbed their burns in emergency ward of Nishtar Hospital Multan on Thursday. While another four are in critical condition.
"Mostly of the people received about 70 percent burns and they are in critical condition. Three persons including two children have also died of burn and another four including Allah Ditta Hiraj are in critical condition in Ward No 6 now casualties rose to eight," CMO of Nishtar Hospital Dr Zafar Iqbal told this correspondent on Thursday.
He further said that eighteen patients are under treatment in Nishtar Hospital Multan some of them were shifted late Wednesday from Kabirwala Hospital.
At least five persons were killed and another 21 injured seriously when an explosion occurred in village Haveli Koranga (Abdul Hakeem) on Wednesday afternoon.
According to details one Allah Ditta Hiraj had established a mini cinema house with his CD and DVD shop where obscene movies were being viewed secretly. He had closed all the doors of the hall were shut. Total 46 people were viewing the movie in this mini cinema house.
Incidentally one of the viewer threw a live match on the heap of fireworks which caught fire within no time and an explosion was occurred which badly damaged the building besides killing three persons at the spot and another two died in Hospital. Fourteen were hospitalised and later referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan.
Zafar Abbas Bukhari DPO Khanewal said that "It was an accident which took place due to recklessness of the viewers and cinema owner also injured.
However we would take action against him for establishing an unauthorised mini cinema house.
Those killed include Altaf Hussain of Kot Islam, Irfan Mirali of Haveli Koranga, Mithu and Nazar Abbas (12), Junaid (10) Muhammad Irfan (12) Mithu (9). One body is still unidentified.
While injured were identified as Niaz Ahmed, Zahid Hanif, Kaiser Abbas, Shehzad Ahmed, Fakhar Ahmed, Junaid Iqbal, Syed Ehsan Haider, Waseem Abbas, Sajjad Hussain, Haq-Nawaz, Munawar Hussain etc. Allah Ditta, cinema owner is among the injured persons.
Security was tightened in Multan division following the bomb blasts in Lahore causing the death of six persons. Police are searching the vehicles and passengers at Railway stations, bus and van terminals.
"We have taken foolproof security measures in Multan range to avert any eventuality and people have been asked to keep vigilant eyes of the suspects and inform the police about unclaimed things," Deputy Inspector General of Police Multan, Malik Muhammad Iqbal said.
Police and elite force were patrolling in the city and special staff was deployed at mosques, Imam Bargahs, cinema houses, parks, buses, wagons and air conditioned buses terminals.
