In just three years, Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) under the dynamic and dedicated leadership of Brigadier A.S. Nasir (retd), emerged as well organised department capable enough not only to provide for its expenses but have been paying the City Government a handsome amount to be spent on development schemes of public welfare and beautify the city.
This philosophy took a new turn when Brigadier A.S. Nasir (retd) decided to uplift Civic Centre area which houses not only KPA, Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA), Sui Southern Gas and offices of other departments, but also the secretariat of Nazim of City District Government of Karachi (CDGK) and Expo Centre Karachi, where exhibitions on national and international level are held, who was of the opinion that an area of such importance should be bright and beautiful.
Brigadier A.S. Nasir (retd) personally appointed officer on special duty, Rauf Akhtar Farooqui to head a committee to look after this project and allocated a sum of Rs 12.5 million for the ornamentation.
In the first phase of this project a modern and beautiful boundary is being constructed around Civic Centre. The plantation of grass, rows of rose plants and palm trees are being planted.
This is backed by the construction/repair of roads, the main door of Karachi Building Control Authority replicates a Moghul era construction, an attractive boundary around car parking, expensive modern floors and two bus sheds on university road, will add a beauty to this prestigious place.
Foreign dignitaries and visitors who visit Karachi to attend the Exhibitions in Karachi will surely appreciate this change and Karachiites will be proud of this achievement.
