'Judges appointment only on merit'

Chairman Pakistan Jurist Forum for Human Rights Tariq Aziz has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan, requesting him to appoint judges in the superior courts on merit.
In his letter to Chief Justice, Tariq said that previously the appointments of judges were made on recommendations of VVIPs. He said the authorities should be very careful and selection of judges should be made among the people of excellent character, high calibre and meritorious record abundance of litigation.
