'Trade with Kabul up manifold'

Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri on Sunday said that Pakistan-Afghanistan trade has registered manifold increase during the last couple of years. In an interview with a private TV channel, he said the mutual trade between the two countries was just $ 30 million, four years ago.
Kasuri said Afghan President Hamid Karzai has expressed gratitude for Pakistan's cooperation in Afghanistan elections. The number of Pakistani security forces deployed on the Pak-Afghan border has been increased, he added.
Pakistan enjoys excellent relations with the US and both countries are allies in war against terror, the foreign minister said, adding Pakistan was doing what suits its national interests and has got immense benefits due to cooperation and relations with the US.
"Pakistan was declared major non-Nato ally without any request," Kasuri said.
Foreign debts have been rescheduled to benefit Pakistan and the country has achieved exceptional increase in the GDP, he said.
