Under a campaign launched on directive of the Punjab government's transport department, against the violation of traffic rules in the district, two Special squads impounded 518 vehicles involved in violation of various traffic rules during the first fortnight of the current month.
The vehicles against which the action was taken, included 211 smoke emitting vehicles, 140 vehicles using wrong lane, ten vehicles involved in using pressure horn, 91 noise emitting vehicles, ten vehicles involved in Mobile phone usage and six vehicles playing tape-recorders.
The special squads were formed by DCO Faisalabad, Athar Hussain Khan Sial in compliance of the directions received from the Chief Secretary Punjab regarding the subject.
The first squad comprising Liaquat Buland Khan MVE, Arif Mahmood, Inspector Environment and Allah Ditta, Inspector Traffic Police while the second one comprised of Imtiaz Bajwa, MVE and Khalid Mahmood, Inspector Environment.
Special squads incharges, Liaquat Buland Khan and Imtiaz Bajwa have said that the campaign would continue unabated and have directed transporters and drivers to ensure that their vehicles were fully road worthy and that they ensured strict adherence of the traffic rules & regulation in order to save themselves from the clutches of law.
