The Election Commission has reminded the senators, members of the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies that Friday, September 30 is the last date to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities of their own, spouses and dependents to the Election Commission.
Election Commission Secretary Kanwar Dilshad said that filing of assets statement was requirement of the provisions of Section 42 A of the Representation of the Peoples Act, 1976 and Section 25 A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975 and the law does not provide extension in filing time.
The statements received from the members would be published in the official gazette, he added. He also said that prescribed forms are available free-of-cost from the Election Commission Secretariat, Islamabad and offices of provincial election commissioners.
Forms are also available on the Website of the Election Commission www.ecp.gov.pk.
