A plan has been introduced to improve conditions and facilitate the farming community at 155 fruit and vegetable markets operating under, the Agri Marketing Department, Punjab.
This was told by Punjab Agriculture Marketing Minister, Qasim Noon while talking to a 15-member delegation of students from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, who called on him at his office here on Wednesday. As many as 97 of these markets are operating in the public sector while 58 are run by the government.
The minister said under the WTO regime, high quality agricultural products could compete and fetch handsome rates in international markets, growers should also strive to improve the quality of their produce to world standards.
