The government and private organizations are pouring generous donations for relief efforts in the deadliest earthquake affected areas. People working in ministries, private corporations and other institutions have pledged hefty donations for the affectees of the disaster.
International donors have announced millions of dollars as emergency aid for Pakistan but frustration is mounting among victims living without food and shelter.
The Ministry of Population Welfare, Ministry of Ports and Shipping, Ministry of Railways and many other organisations have donated one-day salary of their employees.
The Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDC) has donated Rs 50 million to the President's Relief Fund while employees of the company have donated one-day salary.
OGDC has sent 10 truckloads of relief goods, including tents, blankets, food items and medicines. Two teams of doctors have already been rushed to the affected areas.
The employees of Attock Refinery Limited (ARL) have generously donated their two days' salary towards Relief Fund of President.
The Attock Hospital has donated medicines worth Rs 0.2 million for earthquake affectees.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has dispatched a second consignment of relief goods on Tuesday.
The five-truckloads of relief goods include medicines, blankets, quilts, mats, food items, such as biscuits, powdered milk, dates sent to Muzafarrabad.
The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has announced free transportation of relief goods from its staging sections at Karachi, Hyderabad, Khairpur, Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Multan, Lahore and Gujranwala up to Chaklala Air Base.
People wishing to donate items like blankets, tents, clothes, material for coffin and dry food items etc are requested to contact NLC's staging sections.
The NLC will provide free transportation of these relief goods up to Chaklala Air Base, Rawalpindi.
The Rural Education And Development (READ) Foundation has announced that it has received an emergency aid worth of over Rs 16 million and it would be reaching out to more than 50,000 people in worst affected villages of Muzaffarabad, Bagh and Poonch districts in AJK with emergency relief items.
The Chairman of Din Group of Industries has donated a sum of Rs 10 million for the President Relief Fund.
