Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL) and the Li Ka Shing Foundation donated 0.5 million dollars in response to the terrible loss of life and property from the Pakistan earthquake disaster towards the relief of victims and rebuilding of the country.
In a statement issued here on Monday, HWL Chairman Li Ka Shing said he was sad to see that the disaster had caused such devastation in Pakistan.
"Compared to the huge loss caused by the earthquake, our efforts are small. However, we hope it will help ease some pain and suffering. We also hope that people in Hong Kong will contribute in whatever way they could to help the victims."
The amount includes two-third of the donation from the HWL and one-third from Li Ka Shing Foundation.-PR
