Deputy High Commissioner of United Kingdom Ron Rimmer has said that investment climate in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi, is more favourable and conducive then ever before to promote business here, as textile sector in Pakistan has grown up during the last four-five years.
He was talking to newsmen during his visit to Popular Fabrics Quaidabad, Karachi, a textile plant of Popular Group of Industries here on Tuesday.
Popular Group of Industries Managing Director and Super Highway Association of Trade and Industry Chairman Shahbaz Ali Malik, S.T. Food Industries and Bismillah Housing Services CEO Altaf Majeed, Popular Group Director Malik Zulfiqar Ali Roshan, Malik Kamran Roshan and Junaid Malik were also present on the occasion.
Ron Rimmer said that relations between Pakistan and Britain had been established on firm bases of equal friendship as both the countries were enjoying very cordial relations with the increasing co-operation in social and economic sectors.
He said that the Government of Britain was deeply interested in the development and prosperity of Pakistan, owing to strong relations existing between the two countries for decades. The UK was also keenly interested in boosting trade relations between the two countries.
He expressed grief and sorrow on October 8 tragedy and calamity due to which Pakistan was facing much more difficulties. "We are with the Pakistani people at this crucial and critical time," he assured.
Popular Group of Industry MD Shahbaz Ali Malik thanked the deputy high commissioner of the UK and said that the Pakistan producing items of international standards and that is why their demand was increasing in the international market. "Our productions could compete with any other country in the international market," he said.-PR
