Prince Rashid Bin-Al-Hasan on Sunday said that Jordan would continue to extend assistance to Pakistan for the relief of quake victims.
Prince Rashid who reached here at Chaklala airbase to examine the ongoing relief activities for the affected people of quake hit areas said that every possible assistance will be provided to the quake victims.
The Jordanian Prince while talking to APP said that considering the sufferings of quake affected people, Jordan has decided to send further cargo aircraft carrying relief goods to Pakistan.
He said that Jordan has also planned to send 6,000 large size tents to Pakistan, which will have capacity to accommodate 60,000 people.
Prince Rashid, who is also Chief of the Jordanian Relief Agencies said that Jordan has decided to send tents in large numbers considering the coming cold weather, which could badly affect the quake victims.
"I personally visited the affected areas and witnessed the devastation caused by the earthquake."
He expressed the hope that Arab countries will actively contribute in the ongoing relief activities and send more aid to Pakistan for quake victims.
To a question, he said international community is contributing a lot for the affected people, however he said that the incoming relief assistance is not enough to meet the requirements of quake victims.
He said during his meetings with President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, he discussed with them the ongoing relief activities and assured them of Jordan's full support in this regard.
Prince Rashid said Jordan has already sent six planes carrying relief goods to Pakistan. He said besides sending relief goods, Jordan has also set up a well-equipped field hospital in a quake-hit area for providing medical assistance to victims.
To another question, he said Jordan has participated in rescue operation while it will continue to play its active role in the ongoing relief operation.
He appreciated the role of Pakistani government and Pakistan army's personnel for properly handling the situation in the quake affected areas caused by the severe earthquake.
This was the second visit of Prince Rashid to Pakistan. He already visited Pakistan along with mobile field hospital and 52 personnel after severe earthquake on October 11.
