Trade and business community in the federal capital will celebrate Eid with the earthquake victims in different affected areas.
According to a statement issued here on Sunday, a meeting of the executive committee of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) held with the President, Abdul Rauf in the chair and decided to celebrate Eid with the earthquake affected people to show their solidarity with them.
The statement said that a resolution was also passed by the executive member of the chamber demanding of the government to centralise the relief efforts to ensure their benefits to the genuine needy people.
Abdul Rauf said tens of thousands people were died and number of people were injured due to the earthquake and million were rendered homeless, who are in dire need of centralised help.
He said government should intensify its efforts to rehabilitate the earthquake-affected people, particularly those who live at mountain areas.
Besides, depositing of Rs 5 million to the President Relief Fund, ICCI also set up field medical centers for injured and camps for affected people at PIMS and Polyclinic hospitals.
Sohail Khan, the senior vice president said showing their solidarity with the affected people the business community would give Eid gifts to children and women.
