MULTAN: The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is subsidizing marketing endeavours of some Pakistani companies at two trade fairs in Saudi Arabia next month to enable Pakistani food and health and beauty products penetrate the Gulf market.
The TDAP is providing a subsidy of 70 per cent to three companies dealing in health and beauty products to enable them showcase their products at four-day health and beauty show beginning from Nov 21 at Jeddah, says Husnain Langah, the deputy director TDAP Multan.
The companies included Sarwana Hsozihm, Karachi, Khyber Chemicals Lahore, and ALM Surgical Sialkot and produce tooth paste, hair remover, bleach cream, face wash, acne and vanishing creames besides surgical and dental products for beauty.
Instead of Rs 500,000, these companies would pay only Rs 170,000 each.
Another three-day trade fair titled FoodX would begin at Jeddah on Nov 27 and companies from different countries would showcase their food products.
Seven rice mills and some food companies of Pakistan are preparing to join the event, Langah said adding that rice mills would get 50 per cent subsidy while other food companies 60 per cent subsidy.
He said that companies preparing food like Paratha, snacks, Nan besides those dealing in fresh fruit and other food products would participate in the FoodX.
He said the TDAP was ready to help forward looking companies provided the exercise carries the potential of increase in exports.
