Due to the calamitous circumstances President General Pervez Musharraf, who is also chairman of COMSTECH (OIC Ministerial Standing Committee for Science & Technology), has decided to postpone the upcoming 12th General Assembly meeting of COMSTECH, which was scheduled to be held here from November 22-24.
According to a press release of COMSTECH issued here on Friday, the associated events like 24th meeting of the COMSTECH executive committee, OIC task force meeting and International seminar on strengthening science in Africa have also been postponed for the same reasons.
The general assembly meeting will now be held from February 21-23, 2006. While deeply regretting the inconvenience it may cause to the participating countries COMSTECH expects that the entire OIC community would show its support and understanding in case of the situation that Pakistan is going through.
