Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Ehsan ul Haq has assured earthquake victims of all out efforts by the Government and Pakistan Army for their rehabilitation. He expressed these views during his visit to the remote areas of NWFP hit by earthquake.
On arrival at Banna in Allai valley, the General Officer Commanding about the latest situation of relief and rehabilitation work briefed the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Mohammad Hamid was also present on the occasion. Local member of provincial assembly and Nazim attended the briefing.
Later, the CJCSC visited the Batera village in Besham District where the Pakistan Army jawans has established a tent village. Representatives of local administration were also present at the location.
CJCSC also visited a tent village established at Mera. This village houses approximately 3,000 people and elaborate arrangements had been made to bring their lives to normalcy. Later, after briefing, General Ehsan ul Haq visited schools for boys and girls, field hospital established by the doctors of Cuba and other facilities in the area.
Talking to the inhabitants, he said though all the facilities had been provided to them but they must work hard in collaboration with the Army and other government agencies busy in their rehabilitation.
The local people expressed complete satisfaction over the environment and facilities provided in the camp. General Ehsan ul Haq also lauded the roles of foreign agencies and thanked various organisations working in the camp.
