The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Saturday returned a petition filed by the Ittefaq Group of Industries - owned by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members - against income tax officials.
The LHC office, while returning the petition, has observed the petition was not maintainable under provisions of income tax act, thus the petitioner advised to approach Income Tax Tribunal.
The petitioner had approached the LHC against income tax officials for demanding income tax in excess of income of the Petitioner Company.
It was prayed to the court to declare the assessment of Petitioner Company made by the income tax officials as illegal and without lawful authority.
