World leaders on Monday assured President General Pervez Musharraf of their full support and assistance in rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in the quake-hit areas of the country.
In separate telephonic conversations with President Pervez Musharraf, Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi Junichiro, Thai Prime Minister Thak Shinwapra, Amir of Qatar Sultan Hamid Bin Khalifa Sani and Prime Minister of Italy expressed their solidarity with quake survivors and assured provision of more help and assistance.
They said that they would send their respective delegations to attend the November 19 donors conference in Islamabad.
Amir of Qatar said that his country will provide long term support to Pakistan to overcome the losses in the calamity affected areas. He said his country will send medical teams, besides relief goods for the quake survivors.
Italian Prime Minister expressed full solidarity with the people of Pakistan n this hour of trial. He said that donors conference would lead to rehabilitation of the affected people.
Thai Prime Minister said his country would provide all possible help and assistance for quake-affected people in their rehabilitation.
French President Jacques Chirac on Monday assured President Pervez Musharraf of all kind of support for Pakistan's colossal reconstruction efforts in earthquake-ravaged areas and informed that a French delegation would participate in November 19 donors conference in Islamabad.
In a telephonic call, President Chirac said he has also talked to the European Union leaders and international financial institutions and urged them to express solidarity with Pakistan in its hour of need by taking part in the relief and reconstruction tasks in the earthquake-shattered areas.
President Pervez Musharraf thanked the world leaders for their assurance of aid and expressing solidarity with quake survivors. He said that Pakistan was faced with great challenge of reconstruction and rehabilitation.
The President expressed the hope that with our national spirit and co-operation of international community, Pakistan will be able to meet this challenge.
