Punjab government has fetched a revenue of Rs 2.9 million through open auction of as many as 136 attractive registration numbers of vehicles of newly started LW series. The auction took place at the office of Motor Registering Authority (MRA) Lahore under the supervision of MRA Rao Shakeel ur Rehman and Superintendent Excise & Taxation Department.
Official sources said here Monday all 136 attractive registration marks of LW series were contested and the highest bid of Rs 350,000 was received for LW-1. LW-7 fetched Rs 100,000, LW-786 Rs 47,000, LW-2 Rs 30,000, LW-3 Rs 30,000, LW-4 Rs 32,000, LW-5 Rs 75,000, LW-6 Rs 40,000, LW-8 Rs 45,000, LW-9 Rs 65,000 and LW-11 was sold at Rs 40,000.
Sources said government was fetching substantial revenue through the sale of attractive numbers in Lahore for which credit goes to the E&T officials who ensured transparency and openness in the auction process.
