The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to Nazim Union Council-10 Sialkot and directed him to explain as to why his administrative powers may not be withdrawn.
The court passed these orders in a petition filed by a citizen Muhammad Abbas praying to the court to restrain the respondent Javed Iqbal from using the office of Nazim till disposal of the petition, as he concealed the facts from the returning officer.
He said that he was a government servant in police department and went abroad in 1996 without informing the department. The department terminated him, as he failed to inform the department.
In the LB polls he contested the election and elected as Nazim. He said that the respondent concealed facts before the returning officer while submitting his nomination papers.
He prayed to the court to declare the election of the respondent as null and void and restrain him from using his office as the Nazim till disposal of the petition.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel M.D. Tahir at length, issued notice to the respondent for next week.
HEARING PUT OFF The Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned till November 30, the proceedings in a petition filed by a member Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) praying to the court to direct the respondent LESCO to restrain the respondent cable operators from using the electricity poles for their business.
The petitioner contended that action of the respondent cable operators using the electricity poles is illegal, unconstitutional and against the by laws of the LESCO. He prayed to the court to direct the respondent LESCO to take action against the respondent cable operators for using the electricity poles.
The court adjourned the proceedings till November 30 for final arguments.
