Hyderabad District Nazim Kunwar Navaid Jameel has announced that Hyderabad would be made a model city after extensive development work. He stated this while chairing a high-level meeting here.
According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, the consultants Osmani & Co (Pvt) Ltd, gave a detailed presentation on Hyderabad development package and informed the meeting about the progress of work. The meeting deliberated in detail on various aspects of the work and appreciated the work done by the consultants.
The Nazim was informed that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out to develop and improve Hyderabad infrastructure and for this purpose state-of-the-art technology is being used. For the first time the consultants have prepared a GIS satellite image base map for Hyderabad.
The Nazim issued directives for giving top priority to the development work.
He approved priority projects which included water filter plants at Hala, Naka and Preetabad, procurement of diesel generators for sewerage and water supply works, fly-over at Unit 7, Latifabad and pedestrian bridges at Zubaida College and Shahbaz Building and upgradation of Rani Bagh and Zoo.
Kanwar Navaid also reviewed other projects, including additional clarifiers at new filter plant for filtration of additional 20 MGD water, 54 dia water supply line from new filter plant to Thandi Sarak Police Station and three water reservoirs of 1 and 2 MG capacity in various areas of the city.
He directed the consultants to immediately complete the formalities and designs of these important projects. The ongoing projects of parks and playgrounds were also reviewed.
The Nazim asked the DCO to ensure that all agencies working in the city should co-ordinate with the HDP Directorate before digging any road. New projects for improvement of major roads and bridges in the city were also discussed and the Nazim asked the consultants to prepare schemes for the same.
The Nazim also agreed to the suggestions that a comprehensive master plan for sustainable development of Hyderabad would be made under HDP by its consultants which would aimed to making Hyderabad a model city for attracting industrial investments and to cater to sustainable development of the city.
Hyderabad DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed, Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) Director General Tahir Ahmed, Wasa Managing Director Kafil Khanzada, EDO Works Farooq Kazi, Town Planning Director Arif Memon, Osmani & CO Chairman I.A. Osmani, HDA Project Manager Asim Osmani and others attended the meeting.
