Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro has urged non-governmental and civil society organisations to come up with the latest technologies that could cater for the needs of the quake affectees as the rehabilitation is posing a big challenge in the wake of winter season.
He said this while talking to journalists during visit on Sunday to a Model House set up by `Sargodhians', a social welfare organisation.
Soomro appreciated the project and underscored the need to make it more cost-effective. To a question on balloting of the members of Senate, he said it would be held in January next year, adding, the Election Commission was making formal arrangements in this regard.
He said the term of all the members of the Upper House would be specified through balloting with no exception whatsoever to anyone.
On performance of the Senate during the last three years, Soomro said it worked amicably as the Government-Opposition's working relationship was remarkable.
Earlier, the Chairman Senate participated as the chief guest in a marriage ceremony, organised by Khubaib Foundation at the Community Centre Aabpara Tent Village.
