USAID provides 17,500 plastic sheeting for survivors

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Sunday announced arrival of additional plastic sheeting to winterise the shelters for an additional 17,500 earthquake affected families.
As the cold weather intensifies, these supplies become more crucial.
USAID has so far provided more than $60.1 million in humanitarian assistance and food aid to earthquake-affected communities through non-governmental organisations and the United Nations.
USAID is also providing shelter kits that would help more than 528,000 in need.
A public-private initiative based on partnership between Alaska Structures, the Human Development Foundation of Pakistan, Human Development Foundation of North America and USAID brought 117 family unit, extreme weather tent structures valued at $4.2 million to the remote village of Puthian.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the US embassy reiterated its commitment of providing $510 million for relief and reconstruction efforts in calamity-hit areas.
