A joint team of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), NSS, PTCL and FIA raided a house here on Saturday in Sector G-6 and confiscated an illegal gateway exchange.
According to PTA, the rooftop of the house had a 50 feet tower through which large Internet bandwidth was being acquired for the illegal gateway exchange.
The operational set-up indicated thousands of international calls being terminated in the local networks. Illegal gateway exchange, routers and intelligent computer system, controlling the entire illegal activity was confiscated.
Ehsan-ul-Haq, the owner of the illegal set-up, was caught red handed by FIA.
The FIA team consisted of Assistant Director, Rai Abdul Hai and female officials with overall supervision of Deputy Director FIA (Corporate Crime Circle), Junaid Sultan.
