Cement manufacturers have reduced the prices by Rs 25-30 per 50-kg bag. All Pakistan Cement Manufacturer Association Chairman Tariq Saigol talking to a private TV channel said the new price was fixed at Rs 270-280 per bag.
After snowfall in northern areas the demand for cement has reduced, while many major projects have slowed down, which has resulted in reduction of prices.
He said expanded capacity plants of the Pioneer Cement and Lakki Cement have also started regular production that has added to the supplies.
Retailers had inflated cement prices in the past, but now they have reduced them by Rs 40-50 per bag, he added.
