PML-N Central leader and ex-Chairman Public Accounts Committee MNA M. Hamza said the importance of construction of Kalabagh dam for the survival and economic stability of the country cannot be ignored.
Talking to newsmen here, he added however General Pervez Musharraf has no right what so ever to thrust his unilateral decision upon the nation, which, he also said, will divide the country without yielding fruitful results.
Hamza claimed during the government of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif he had suggested against any such step on this important issue without consulting the representatives and masses of all the provinces.
He maintained to have noted arguments of Wapda ex-chairman Shamsul Mullak in favour of Kalabagh dam that it world ultimately yield encouraging results in the improvement of agriculture and economic conditions of NWFP and Sindh.
MNA Hamza also added General Musharraf has hijacked the democracy in the country and hence has no right to thrust his polices in matters reflecting country's interest merely to prolong his dictatorship. He pointed out in the eyes of America Pakistan is playing an important role in the fight against terror but will declare him a great terrorist without hesitation.
