United Nations Population Funds Country Representative Dr France Donny visited Kohat on Thursday and inspected funds projects worth Rs one million at Liaquat Memorial Hospital Kohat and Rural Health Centre Gumbat.
She was also accompanied by Dr Hulki Uz, Deputy Country Representative and Dr Mubashar Malik, National Programme Officer. The delegation inspected renovation work on Labour Room Rural Health Centre Gumbat Kohat which will be completed with a cost of Rs 0.4 million within a month and Labour Room and Reproductive Health Centre, renovation project at Liaquat Women and Children Hospital Kohat completed at a cost of Rs 0.6 million.
Speaking on the occasion, she announced that the fund will also renovate operation theatre and gynae ward of Women and Children Hospital Kohat besides provision of latest gynae and labour room related equipment.
Dr Rahman, District Programme Officer Kohat disclosed that UNFPA is working for improvement of women and children health including pre-birth health improvement and post-birth women and child care.
He expressed the hope that this programme will provide standard health facilities for women and children in the district so that their problems could be minimised. EDO health, district health co-ordinator and DMS Liaquat Hospital were also present on the occasion.
