Punjab government is paying special attention towards the health sector due to which the poor and deserving patients are getting free medical treatment facilities in the government hospitals of the province.
Chairman Board of Management, Punjab Medical College, Allied and District Headquarters Hospitals, Mian Muhammad Latif, presiding over the Board meeting said steps like setting up of Institute of Cardiology & Burn Centre at Faisalabad, addition of 300 beds in Allied and 200 beds in DHQ hospitals and approval of medical reimbursement were the part of CMs health sector improvement policy.
Professor Dr A.G Rehan, Dr Aamir Ch, Additional Secretary Finance, M.S Allied Hospital Dr Rana Bashir Ahmad, M.S DHQ Hospital Dr Imtiaz Hamed, Principal Staff Officer Dr Rashed Maqbool, Director Finance and others attended.
Principal Punjab Medical College, Professor Dr A.G. Rehan informed the meeting that free medicines were already being provided to patients of indoor and emergency wards. He said that the conditions and facilities at the gynae operation theatre and labour room had been improved through renovation and provision of required equipment and facilities.
Later, Mian Latif & Board members took a round of the hospital where they visited emergency, different departments, laboratories, medicine stores and different wards etc.
