USDA cotton export sales highlights for latest reporting week: Net Upland sales of 100,900 RB were 63 percent below the previous week and 75 percent under the prior 4-week average.
The primary buyers were China (49,600 RB), Taiwan (14,600 RB), Turkey (14,300 RB), Brazil (7,800 RB), Indonesia (7,800 RB), and Peru (6,000 RB). Decreases were reported for Mexico (27,600 RB). Sales of 28,400 RB for delivery in 2006/07 were for Mexico.
Exports of 387,500 RB were 3 percent above the prior week and 18 percent over the previous 4-week average. The major destinations were China (220,900 RB), Turkey (32,600 RB), Mexico (22,000 RB), Indonesia (16,700 RB), Brazil (15,600 RB), and Taiwan (14,000 RB). American Pima sales of 89,900 RB-a marketing-year high-were primarily for China (71,100 RB), Indonesia (13,500 RB), and Taiwan (2,000 RB).
Sales of 22,400 RB for delivery in 2006/07 were mainly for Indonesia (22,300 RB). Exports of 65,400 RB-a marketing-year high-were primarily to China (36,900 RB), Indonesia (10,100 RB), Turkey (6,400 RB), and India (3,900 RB).
