UAE will gift eight turbines of total 240 MW to City District Government Karachi to help improve power supply here. These turbines are being gifted on the directive of UAE President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zaid with the special interest taken by Pakistan Ambassador Ahsanullah Khan.
The UAE government will also bear the expenditure in the installation of these turbines. This was stated by representative of Abu Dhabi Water Authority, Tanvir Zaidi, in a meeting with City Naib Nazim, Nasreen Jalil, here on Saturday.
He said four turbines will be installed at Port Qasim and tour at Korangi Thermal Power Station.
The City District Government Lahore will also be gifted tour turbines of 80 MW, he informed.
Naib Nazim Karachi thanked Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zaid for the valuable gift and also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Ambassador to UAE Ahsanullah Khan in this regard.
