Singapore bunker prices were unchanged on Tuesday, while differentials to cargo values rose, as sellers collectively tried to floor the recent slide, traders said.
Prices for 380-centistoke (cst) bunker fuel were pegged at $325 a tonne, unchanged from the Monday's Asian close, with the differential to fuel oil at a premium of about 75 cents, up $1.30 from day ago levels.
"The market is trying to stem the slide, we can't continue selling at a discount something has to give," a Singapore bunker trader said.
Shipowners meanwhile, were reluctant to book deals, choosing to wait for prices to slide further.
