The present government believes that there is a great need to portray positive side of our women such as their participation and contributions in various walks of life. This was stated in a communication by the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Women Development Nilofar Bakhtiar.
"For that they need a single platform where they can meet, discuss their issues, vocalise their concerns, celebrate their achievements, converge efforts towards women development and empowerment and highlight their contribution in the society", she added.
It was stated that Women's Expo is one such platform where over 100,000 Pakistani women are expected to congregate to celebrate their identity that will entail their happiness, accomplishment of milestones and empowerment as a member of our society.
Nilofar Bakhtiar said that the Ministry of Women Development has taken the initiative by holding the Women's Expo-the first national interactive platform for women.
The Women's Expo will be organised from April 13 to 16th at the Karachi Expo Centre. One of the salient features of the four-day event will be that a hall named as 'Hunarmand' would be allocated for the women of the four provinces to exhibit the items that they prepare at home or produced at the cottage industries in the country. Thus the less privileged segment of the women workers would be provided representation as well as the due encouragement.
